No Place Like Home

There's a saying: "There's no place like home". I've come to prove this to be true, however I've come to realize that home is not just a place, but a mindset. It's a mindset where you genuinely care about others and they genuinely care about you; a mindset where you are authentic and comfortable in sharing your vulnerabilities; a mindset where you recognize that the whole is more powerful than individual parts; a mindset where you speak the truth even if it hurts, but you hang around to help mend the wounds; a mindset where acceptance and love abides; a mindset where forgiveness, growth and character building is a necessity to survive. I never realized how much I learned about "home" from my childhood church Flatbush SDA, but I'm grateful that I carry "home" everywhere I go and have been blessed to add new family members in my journey.
