The Abundant Life

I woke up feeling a mixture of emotions. Suddenly there was a scripture that laid heavily on my mind: “The thief cometh not but for to steal, to kill and to destroy; I am come that you might have life and have it more abundantly.” It’s a text I always knew, but it saturated my mind in that moment. It dawned on me that the “thief” can manifest in many ways: negative thoughts, failed dreams, broken promises, unfulfilled desires and toxic people. The “thief” is always seeking ways to steal our joy and distract us from living a fulfilled life.

In that very moment, God reminded me to recognize that while the thief does exist, I really shouldn’t be focused on the thief. I needed to shift my focus to the fact that not only am I blessed with life, but I have all the possibilities and opportunities in the world to have an abundant life. I began to think about what an abundant life would look like. I literally felt an entire shift in my mood as I began to visualize me living an abundant life. A shift in focus made the difference!

What are you focused on? Are you living an abundant life? What does an abundant life look like for you? What is holding you back from living that life?

Today, I encourage you to see yourself in the future and begin making the necessary changes in your life so that you can truly live abundantly.
