I was recently driving to an event and using my GPS to help me get there. While driving, I got a little distracted and missed my exit. The GPS started to recalculate my route and I quickly realized that if I didn’t make a U-turn, I would never reach my destination. I decided to make the U-turn. While my journey took a little longer than originally planned, because of the U-turn, I eventually reached my destination.
Life is a journey and there will be times when we “miss our exit”. This can occur because of fear, lack of preparation, poor choices, distractions along the way and so many other reasons. Whatever the reason is, it’s important to remember that the option for a U-turn is always available. If you find yourself off course along your journey, don’t keep going in the wrong direction in hopes that you will eventually get to your destination. Stop and take an assessment of where you are and do whatever is necessary to get back on track. You are not the first and won’t be the last that will need to make a U-turn. Take advantage of the U-turn and when you finally reach your destination, you’ll be glad you did!
