Embracing The Seasons

Have you ever been asked: what’s your favorite season?  Mine is Spring. I really like Spring because the weather begins to get warm and the trees and flowers start to bloom and the birds begin to sing. Spring is a sign of new birth!  Interestingly, it never really dawned on me that the reason I appreciated spring so much is because winter came before it. Winter felt so dreary and cold and the contrast to spring made spring very appealing. I just couldn’t understand why some people enjoyed the winter season.  Over time, I realized that every season serves its purpose and in understanding the purpose you can fully embrace and appreciate all that it comes with. The wisest man that ever lived said:

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

Whatever season you find yourself in, embrace it and have faith that its preparation for the season that lies ahead.  While I still say that spring is my favorite season, I embrace all the seasons because change is needed for growth and I have learned to find the blessings no matter the season.
